After gambling legislations changed, allowing for land-based casinos to open, the riverboat would undergo a 4 million dollar makeover taking on a new face of the grandest riverboat dinner cruise ship. The Georgia Queen will make a long journey leaving behind her once home and travel 2,800 miles down the Mississippi River, across the Gulf of Mexico, down and around the shorelines of Florida and Key West to call Savannah her new home. This spectacular paddlewheel-style riverboat will be joining the Savannah River Queen as her grand sister ship, The Georgia Queen. The Georgia Queen has returned to being the largest and grandest riverboat of its kind on the East Coast, and is among the top elite in the country.
